This paper proposes an improved variable step-size (VSS) scheme forzero-point attracting projection (ZAP) algorithm. The proposed VSS isproportional to the sparseness difference between filter coefficients and thetrue impulse response. Meanwhile, it works for both sparse and non-sparsesystem identification, and simulation results demonstrate that the proposedalgorithm could provide both faster convergence rate and better trackingability than previous ones.
